A 4-year old girl from Washington state has been missing for at least four years already until her remains were found in late October. It was confirmed that the remains of the said girl were hidden in a plastic cooler encased in concrete to cover up the rotting smell of the dead body. Because of this, the girl's mother and stepfather, who got married after the said death of the girl, are being investigated by the Washington authorities.
The Snohomish County deputies have no idea how the girl died, therefore, the couple who are still under investigation has not been charged. However, in a search warrant affidavit acquired by PEOPLE, the girl's mother and stepfather were alleged to have kept her death a secret.
According to the affidavit, it was the family's relatives that reached out to the authorities in late October for their growing concern for the young girl who has been missing for four years which eventually led to the authorities discovering her remains in the girl's home as cited on Heraldnet. The affidavit alleges that the mother's story to her family about her daughter's disappearance changed several times. At first, the mother allegedly said that her daughter died because of medical causes. And then, she reportedly said that her daughter went to live with her grandmother that's why she's away. Finally, she reportedly said that her daughter died while taking a bath and that she and her husband, the girl's stepfather, panicked that's why instead of going to the police to report the incident, they just hid her body in a plastic cooler. The affidavit also states that before the girl went missing, the mother allegedly told their relatives that her daughter had autism in which she had to wear a helmet on several occasions to prevent her from hitting her head.
During an interview with the police, the relatives also said that they remembered smelling a strong odor in the couple's apartment after the girl went missing. When they made a remark about it, the girl's mother allegedly put the blame on their neighbors by saying that they're into fishing.
It was stated in the affidavit that pouring cement into a container with a body in it will conceal the odor as well as the body. One relative allegedly said that the girl's mother asked her help once to move the cooler, but when she put her hand on the lid, the mother put her foot on top of the cooler with a warning to never open it.
