"Stranger Things" Season 2 from Netflix and creators Ross and Matt Duffer will reintroduce the series leads with a minor time jump according to director and producer Shawn Levy. Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), who will be onboard for "Stranger Things" Season 3, will be back in S2 not too long after S1 events.
In a conversation with Collider, Shawn Levy revealed that planning for "Stranger Things" Season 3 is underway. Although filming for "Stranger Things" Season 2 is still ongoing, Shawn Levy acknowledged the importance of planning ahead of confirmation by Netflix.
Meanwhile Shawn Levy may have teased that current key characters of the Netflix series will remain onboard for "Stranger Things" Season 3 in a conversation with Goldderby. "Stranger Things" is "character anchored above all else," Shawn Levy said.
Shawn Levy promised on Collider that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will have new characters that fans of the Netflix series will love. Still, the popularity of the Season 1 was propelled by the chemistry among Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
"Stranger Things" Season 2 will be about the struggle to regain normalcy in Hawkins by the main characters. After the mayhem and losses from "Stranger Things" Season 1, including the death of fan favorite Barb (Shannon Purser), Hawkins will never be normal.
Shawn Levy further teased that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will have a time lapse after the Season 1 finale events, but refused to elaborate on the full extent of the time lapse. Collider points out that earlier details announced on the Netflix series confirmed that a full year will have passed when the story resumes, but perhaps this may have slightly changed if indication by Shawn Levy is supposed to be a hint.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 is anticipated to air by fall at the earliest or winter at the latest in 2017. Share your thoughts with us on "Stranger Things" in the comment box below.
