With his net worth continually increasing, Conor McGregor won his recent fight with Eddie Alvarez making him the first UFC fighter to hold a championship under two weight divisions.
Conor McGregor recently defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. Along with his triumph, the MMA fighter made a record as he is the first UFC fighter to have a championship title under two weight classes. Conor McGregor left the octagon triumphant, as he was able to cash in a major paycheck. According to JOE, Conor McGergor was offered a deal worth $15 to $20 million for UFC 205.
"By the time 2016 closes out," Conor McGregor stated. "I'll be closing in on $40 million. It's been a 40 million year for me."
Conor McGregor might have lost his battle with Nate Diaz at UFC 196, but the Irish MMA fighter managed to cash in a huge paycheck. McGregor was paid a total of $1,000,000 despite losing his battle. Conor McGregor is known as the only UFC fighter to make it to the Forbes 100 List. It was then mentioned that the Irish fighter is currently worth $22 million, which still doesn't include his current paycheck.
Conor McGregor was once caught in a conflict with the UFC president Dana White. In his statement, Conor McGregor highlighted that his promotion highly affects his training as it sidetracks his focus.
"I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote," Conor McGregor wrote. "I feel the $400.0 million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside eight months, is enough to get me this slight leeway."
