"Downton Abbey" actress Michelle Dockery is best known for her role as Lady Mary. But since the show ended in early 2016, the actress has taken on a new role that is completely different from her high-born character. In "Good Behavior," the actress plays a paroled con artist. This new drama premieres Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. on TNT.
"Good Behavior" has Michelle Dockery playing Letty Raines, who has served time in prison for conning other people. Yet the opening scene shows her burglarizing a hotel room, but she becomes privy to a conversation between a husband and contract killer.
Realizing she could turn her life around and finally do something good, Michelle Dockery as Letty Raines decides to derail the planned murder. In doing so, she becomes involved with the hit man Javier (Juan Diego Botto) on "Good Behavior."
"Downton Abbey" actress Michelle Dockery is aware that her "Good Behavior" character will be compared to her role on "Downton Abbey" and she actually expects this. "I think some people will be shocked by Letty and that's OK," she told the New York Times.
She makes it clear, however, that she didn't agree to "Good Behavior" as a conscious effort to do something different after "Downton Abbey." "I would have taken a period drama had the material and the people [I was] working with been brilliant," the actress told Newsweek.
"Good Behavior" leads Michelle Dockery to don different disguises and talk with different accents as a con artist, which does challenge the star's abilities. "Acting within the acting, the roles within the role, is really fun," the actress said, per The Star.
"Downton Abbey" actress Michelle Dockery prepares fans to temper their expectations as they might be potentially upset watching her as Letty on "Good Behavior." For this, Michelle Dockery apologizes to her viewers beforehand.
"Good Behavior" on TNT will be presented with 10 episodes as an ongoing story. It was originally supposed to premiere in the summer, but was moved to a fall schedule. Aside from Dockery and Botto, the show also stars Terry Kinney, Nyles Steele, Fred Austin and Mary Austin. Check out the teaser to "Good Behavior" below.
