Zenbook 3 is considered a MacBook clone. That is a given as, in more ways than one its creation is patterned after the market-leading device. However, there are many aspects that considerably sets the Zenbook 3 apart from MacBook and other devices for that matter.
The Zenbook 3 according to Tech Radar is lightweight at 2pounds and 11.9mm thick. The device is both thinner and lighter compared to the MacBook and Dell XPS 13 and HP's Spectre. This makes for an unparalleled portability ideal for professionals and just any individual who are on the go and requires a thin and lightweight device.
The Zenbook 3 also has a Rose Gold version similar to MacBook. This is definitely saying "copycat" no doubt about that. However, Asus took it a notch higher by coming up with Dark Blue option which not many ultrabooks and laptops carry. Rose Gold is a good hue, but many may stay away from it as it is clearly a copy of the MacBook.
Zenbook 3 is also considered a sharp ultrabook. It features an all metal body and used a specially blended form of aluminum alloy which claims to be 40 percent stronger than the materials used in making the MacBook. The gold trim on the side of Zenbook 3 doesn't hurt at all, in fact, it is a good addition to the device's aesthetics.
Aesthetics is one consideration, but the specs of Zenbook 3 is what makes the device a slim but powerful one. The ultrabook comes with Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB or RAM and 256GB SSD and is only $999. MacBook can easily set one back few more hundred dollars. Other devices such as the Spectre and XPS 13 may even be cheaper, but these devices are not as powerful at all.
As added by University Herald, the Zenbook 3's battery life gave a good performance as well. With WiFi and continuous web surfing, it lasted over seven hours. Although nothing compared to MacBook with it lasting for over nine hours, other competitions proved to be nothing compared to Zenbook 3.
If Zenbook 3 is compared to the MacBook, the latter still is considered the better option. However, with the powerful specs and price cheaper, then this device can win by a mile. It is more expensive than others such as the Spectre and XPS 13 but the power is incomparable.
Zenbook 3 is not the best to its strictest sense because user' opinions vary. Is this device enough to win the hearts of avid Mac users? I don't think so. They may even find it a poor imitation. Will they attempt to try and see how it works? Yes, then they may still say Mac is the best.
