All-star guard Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors is not making any splash to start the season. Together with the back-to-back NBA MVP Stephen Curry, they are known as "Splash Brothers" for making it rain from the three-point line on any given night but Klay is currently in a slump that may have been affected because of the arrival of all-star Kevin Durant to their team.
The Golden State Warriors remains one of the favored team to win the 2017 NBA title, however, there were speculations circling around the league that Klay Thompson could be traded to another team this young season, via Bleacher Report. The rumor of the potential trade involves the Boston Celtics that would send young players, Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley plus a future first round pick for Thompson.
There were speculations that adding these defensive players to the Warriors was influenced by new assistant coach Mike Brown who is known for being defensive minded. Klay Thompson is definitely one of the best guards in the NBA right now and is only having a problem finding his shooting range to start the season. He is known for playing excellent on both ends of the court that compliment the game of Stephen Curry.
Thompson was an integral part of the Warriors team that won the title last 2015 and last season's record-breaking 73-win regular season but falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals. The addition of Kevin Durant last summer made the Warriors deadlier and scarier throughout the league that made them the villain this season. In a recent interview with ESPN, Thompson dismissed the idea of blaming Durant for his shooting slump and saying he also had a bad start last season and Durant is not even in their lineup.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr have denied the trade rumor involving his all-star shooting guard swirling around the NBA and was even a trending topic for some time. Kerr stated that these are only fake news and Klay Thompson is an important part of the Golden State Warriors, according to Mercury News.
