Last week, there were rumors that the "Magic Mike XXL" actor, Channing Tatum, who had been so interested in playing the flick "Gambit," was planning to leave the "X-Men" spinoff. The news was a surprise to many because the actor was the first choice to lead the role. Moreover, he had passion and attachment for the project, which encouraged 20th Century Fox to produce the said film, according to The Wrap.
However, good news for those who believed that Tatum was perfect for "Gambit" because he just closed the deal for the said movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Thus, the "Magic Mike XXL" actor would remain to be the titular superhero as opposed to earlier reports.
The Hollywood Reporter suggested that Tatum and the studio hit a "sensitive spot" during the negotiation as sources claimed. The report further states that the "back-and-forth" process was a normal part of negotiating with top-level talents. Moreover, it is unlikely for Tatum to withdraw because he had already invested in the superhero part. In the past years, aside from being committed to being the lead actor, he also showed interest in producing the film. During the Comic-Con last July, Tatum also made a surprise appearance at Fox's "X-Men" panel to participate in the world's largest superhero group photo, ET reports.
While it was already confirmed that Channing would lead "Gambit," many were wondering if Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, were considering a second child, given that Everly, their eldest, was already two years old. The "Step Up" actress answered the question with "Yeah, yeah! I don't know when, but we definitely want to," according to E! News.
She described Tatum as an amazing father while, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Tatum described Dewan as a "super mom" who was always around. The new parents had been very supportive and appreciative of each other when it came to parenthood.
Dewan, 35, happily shared her motherhood experience with E! News during the Celebration of Dance Gala. "It made me feel really, really good," she said. "I love our daughter so much, she is literally the light of my life. I am with her all the time. It is the source in everything that life is about to me, so to have him say that is really sweet!"
On the other hand, their daughter, Everly, seemed to inherit her parents' talents on the dance floor. Dewan claimed that their little girl had already developed her own dancing moves. "She's got a good ten moves she does over and over," the proud mom said to E! News.
