‘Super Mario Run’ Release Date News: Nintendo Announces Full Game Access To Hit Apple Store On December 15; Price Unveiled

After Nintendo mentioned a "Mario game" coming to Apple devices last September, Nintendo has officially announced "Super Mario Run" the release date including the price in Apple Store. According to the announcement, the first-ever Mario game for iPhone will be released on December 15.

According to The Wired, "Super Mario Run" will cost $9.99 for the full game and can be purchased in-app. The full game will be a one-time purchase and will not ask for any additional payments later.

"Super Mario Run" will launch simultaneously in 151 different countries in December 15, Thesixthaxis cites Nintendo in their report. In Europe, the app will sell at €9.99 or £7.99.

The "Super Mario Run" app will be available for download in the Apple store free of charge, and players can try parts of the game's three game modes for free. But purchasers will need to pay to experience the full game.

"Super Mario Run" will be iPhone exclusive for now, but reports mentioned that Nintendo intends for a "Super Mario Run" release for android in 2017. The game involves Mario running automatically and players controlling his jumps by tapping on the screen.

"Super Mario Run" will be compatible with Apple devices running iOS 8.0 or later and will support English, German, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, and traditional Chinese language options, according to a report.

Mario has been Nintendo's mascot since his first appearance in "Donkey Kong" in 1981. Since then, Mario has appeared in more than 200 video games and even became the protagonist of his own "Super Mario" video game series.

Other than his own video game series, Mario has also appeared in several Nintendo games like, "Mario Tennis," "Mario Kart Racing," and "Paper Mario." In the 2016 Summer Olympics closing ceremony, Mario appeared to promote the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
