In "The Walking Dead" Season 7, Negan arrived in Alexandria with a silenced Daryl Dixon. Not only was Episode 4 "Service" tormenting because Negan is already taking over, but also speculations of Daryl's tongue being cut off emerged or maybe a means to a greater end as Daryl maybe planning something with Rick by sending him Morse codes.
Negan Cut Off Daryl's Tongue In "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 4?
Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, came home dead silent after being completely broken. During "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 4 "Service," Negan along with Dwight began bullying the group, calling them names and humiliating them in front of everybody else, not to mention the ongoing torment Daryl had to endure.
Negan and Dwight relentlessly asked Daryl a series of questions, to which Daryl didn't answer. This resulted in fans speculating that in episode 4 of "The Walking Dead," Daryl's tongue was cut off. This is in fact a very interesting theory.
Suffice to say, Daryl was asked twice, yet he did not say a word. Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln), in the meantime, asked Negan whether Daryl could stay. Negan negatively replied, but Daryl could stay if he could "talk" him into staying. Typically, Daryl didn't say anything.
As "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 4 was about to end, Daryl was almost forced to speak when Dwight told him he can have his motorcycle if he just "asked." These events almost supported fan theories that Negan may have cut off Daryl's tongue.
After all, Norman Reedus said in an interview that Daryl could definitely die on the show. Although showrunners know what they are in for with fan's reactions if they kill Daryl off in "The Walking Dead" Season 7, after the killing of Glenn and Abraham a few weeks ago, would they even dare kill another survivor?
Is Daryl Sending Secret Messages To Rick Through Morse Code?
Another quite far-fetched theory popped up as fans saw Daryl rapidly blinking upon his arrival in Alexandria. This may have been Daryl talking to Rick via Morse code, to which Rick responded by tapping the Lucille bat he was holding for Negan.
Such an absurd theory may not be far from a possibility in "The Walking Dead" Season 7. But going back on Rick's home in Alexandria, there was a very clear shot, which stood out to fans, of a sign "American Morse Code."
This may corroborate the speculation regarding the secret messages Daryl is sending to Rick on "The Walking Dead." But what could those messages be? Are Daryl and Rick planning something grand against Negan? Is Daryl not speaking purposely so that their cover won't be blown?
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. What do you think of Negan cutting off Daryl's tongue theory? Leave your comments below.
