After a long wait, Xbox announced that the much-awaited "Survival" DLC of the hit open-world shooter game "Tom Clancy's: The Division" will be released on November 22 and will be available for PC and Xbox One. The announcement came after tests on the Public Test Server (PTS) allowed players to try out some contents on the DLC.
Per MSPowerUser, the "Survival" DLC will bring a unique experience to "The Division" players. The DLC is set in a devastated New York City after a pandemic throws society into chaos. A classified unit of special-trained tactical agents called "The Division" is activated to prevent the total collapse of society.
The new "Survival" DLC expansion, which will come as part of the 1.5 patch, is a 2-hour long quest that brings together 24 players as "The Division" agents in a very weakened state, forced to survive the effects of a manmade virus. To survive, the players need to make their way to the center of the map called "the Dark Zone."
Also, GameNGuide reported that a new World Tier, weapons, and gear set will come along with the new "The Division" "Survival" DLC and patch. Changes in Enemy Armor Damage will also come with the 1.5 patch, making it available for PVP. Lastly, firing from hip-level has stronger recoil than from aiming through the gun sight.
Lastly, a survival game mode was introduced by Ubisoft, specifically mentioning that the "Survival" DLC will be required to run the game mode. Under the survival mode, two game modes will be available: PvP Survival and PvE survival.
In PvE mode, players help each other rather than kill them. While in PvP mode, players will face one another and will be granted 20 percent additional points to the final Survival score.
For now, the patch and "Survival DLC" are available in the PTS, a server that only PC players have access to. Those playing on the console version of "The Division" will need to wait until release to get their hands on the patch and "Survival" DLC. Inquisitr also reported that the DLC expansion will be released on the PS4 30 days after the Xbox One and PC release.
