‘Beauty And The Beast’ Movie Trailer Dethrones ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ As Most Viewed Trailer In 24 Hours

The "Beauty and the Beast" 2017 film trailer had 127.6 million views within 24 hours of its release. It dethroned the trailer of "Fifty Shades Darker" by at least 13 million, which had 114 million views on its first day.

The report was run by Cosmopolitan, adding that the two films even dethroned "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer views on its first day which had 112 million. Movie fans credit Emma Watson, who plays Belle in the "Beauty and the Beast" live adaptation, for playing a big part for the teaser's many views.

Watson shared the trailer on her Facebook page. The video she shared instantly garnered 27 million views.

The trailer of "Beauty and the Beast" movie also shows a lot of scenes from the original Disney animation. According to Entertainment Weekly, the beginning of the live-action trailer brings too many memories for Disney fans, especially the opening scene which zooms in on the iconic castle.

The trailer then shows Belle (Watson) entering the Beast's castle. There is also a shot of the rose which symbolizes the Beast's curse.

But the highlight of the clip is the iconic ballroom scene. Watson can be seen wearing an updated version of Belle's golden yellow dress from the original 1991 Disney cartoon.

The film adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" was first announced in March 2015. Excitement grew when Watson was cast as Belle. Watson famously played as Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" films.

For now, fans will just have to hit the replay button on the "Beauty and the Beast" trailer as the film is set to premiere on March 17, 2017. See the comparison video below and feel a wave of dejá vù.
