EA News Update: New Disclosure Rules Announced By EA For Youtubers and Streamers

EA is the publisher of "Battlefield 1" and "TitanFall 2". The publisher has announced that they will disclose new advertorial contents for Youtubers and Streamers for the purpose of acknowledging the partnership of EA and other content creators.

EA contractually requires content creators to include the Hashtag "#advertisement" or "supported by" to disclose their collaboration on any content that is produced by EA according to Gamespot. The new rules must be applied to the provisions of copies, press passes or any other support that does not directly influence the nature of the content.

The reason behind these new rules is to avoid the issues that have happened last July. A settlement proposal with Warner Bros. has been given by the government of the United States and the Federal Trade Commission. A video of PewdiePies has reached 3.7 million views.

Content creators on Youtube and Twitch must follow the rules provided for by Electronic Arts. The EA publisher posted on their German blog website some requirements for all content creators. These requirements should be complied with in any content shared on any social medias according to Venture Beat. Anyone who posted games from EA must fully disclose their partnership with the said company.

However, some requirements are not applicable on some region. EA is paying the content creator for promoting the game. The company reminded that an audio message should be included at the beginning of any videos related to EA.

The new rules will help both EA and influencers to avoid confrontations with the FCC. It is a big help to all consumers to better understand how corporation is making a market on them.

Youtube should make it clear to all viewers that they have a relationship with the company that they covering. The viewers believe that content creators have access in movies, music, performances and games because all of it is part of their job.
