"Girl Meets World" Season 3 cancellation news reveals that Disney Channel still has not issued a renewal order for the series even if it is down to its last few episodes on air. Even actress Rowan Blanchard began raising an online petition in hopes of getting the show renewed via a Twitter post.
The actress started the campaign through the hashtag "#GirlMeetsWorldSeason4," which sparked speculations that Disney Channel was really thinking of cancelling the series. August Maturo also joined in on the campaign through the "Girl Meets World" Season 3 renewal campaign: "#SaveGMW."
In "GMW" Season 3, fans and viewers saw the resolution of the infamous love triangle between Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer). With the characters entering high school and in relationships, there have been speculations that the show would move to Freeform.
This move would allow "Girl Meets World" to explore mature topics and issues that are in line with the characters' age and the issues that are prevalent in high school. Fans have also began raising an online petition in hopes of getting the show renewed.
As Blanchard notes in her tweet, "Girl Meets World" Season 4 would allow them to become the generation's voice. This would come in the form of new stories that viewers can relate to.
