LG Nexus 5 2015: Complete Specs Revealed, Touch-ID Feature Being Added? [Rumors]

Google and LG Electronics are currently working together to release the new Nexus phone in October this year, according to Korea Herald.

Reports say that the next LG Nexus 5, which is a refresh of the current model, will boast some new specs. It will include a fingerprint sensor, a new operating system called Android M (Google's latest Android version) and a new mobile payment system called Android Pay.

Apple has Apple Pay, and Samsung is set to roll out the highly anticipated Samsung Pay, but LG apparently plans to stick with Google's upcoming Android Pay, a mobile payment platform that will be available to all Android M smartphones.

Korea Herald sources say that the fingerprint scanner in the new Nexus phone indicates that, in the future, flagship LG phones will utilize fingerprint technology to further enhance security and mobile payment services.

Nexus is also rumored to have two releases this year, according to a report from Phonearena. According to the news outlet, Huawei will also release a new Nexus phone this year, also with a fingerprint scanner mounted on its back panel.

Tech site GizmoChina shares the complete specs of the new Nexus phone based on a recent leaked released online.

According to the leak, the unit will feature a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p P-OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 (MSM8976) processor, up to 4GB of LPDDR3-1866 RAM, up to 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, 3180mAh non-removable battery, MediaTek MT3188 wireless charging receiver as well as a Marvell Avastar 88W8897 connectivity chipset for 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2.
