British journalist and mother, Kelly Rose Bradford, sparks a debate when she said that parents should not bring their kids on flights.
According to Daily Telegraph, Bradford, who is a mom of a 12-year-old, speaks from her own experience. Although she admitted taking her own son on flights when he was a baby, she says that out of consideration for others, there were times when she didn't take her baby with her.
"I took him on short haul flights when he was a baby," she says, adding that she imposed an "interlude" when when he was 18 months until two-and-a-half years old.
Bradford further notes, "I didn't travel, I didn't fly with him, simply because I didn't want the grief and I didn't want to subject everyone else to it as well."
The debate started when the journalist called mothers and fathers who bring their kids on flights "selfish," during the UK television show, "This Morning."
"The reason I think it is slightly selfish is that when you've got a child who is like 1-3-years-old," she explains, "they couldn't really care less whether they're going to Brighton or Barbados on holiday. It's the parents who choose to take them on these long flights," Bradford explains.
However, another guest during the show, journalist Emma Taylor, said that banning children on flights was "discriminatory," according to Yahoo Parenting.
Yahoo further reports that this debate continued on Twitter under the hashtag #ChildFreeFlights, with people having divided opinions.
Some express their frustration about kids on flights:
@itvthismorning When I become a parent, 4 is probably the youngest I'd let go on a plane, if they aren't old enough they can stay at home!

Some are okay with it:
@itvthismorning #ChildFreeFlights its not a babies fault they can't express verbally how they feel ears are hurting, some people are selfish

Some, like this man, are against Bradford's explanations.
If screaming children are an annoyance to you, you might aswell never leave your house. Period. #ChildFreeFlights

While others have different opinions:
#childfreeflights ? So families can't go on holiday now?? Just buy a pair of qc25s and it doesn't matter how noisy anyone is

#ChildFreeFlights absurd! I have been sitting in front of badly behaved adults, kicking chairs& talking overly loudly, ban intolerant adults
