NBA Trade Rumors: Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins Going To Los Angeles Lakers In Exchange For Brandon Ingram, Jordan Clarkson?

The Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers are two teams that are rebuilding on youth, talent and a legacy of greatness. The Kings, led by DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay, looks to set up a name in the West, while the Lakers are slowly climbing the ladder, with young guns Julius Randle, Nick Young, Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russel on the forefront.

While the Lake Show has no perennial problems as of late, the Kings are struggling. The team is at the 11th spot with a 5-9 record. This is despite "Boogie" averaging a monstrous 29.6 points and almost 10 boards per outing. Is Cousins ready to exchange his Sacramento jersey after six seasons with the team?

According to Inquisitr, the Lakers' surprise surge is making them a top contender in heating trade rumor surrounding DeMarcus Cousins. The team is on a balanced 7 win, 7 loss standing, but they are looking good behind new coach Luke Walton. Some even say that they can be a trouble when Playoff times comes. In such cases, Cousins would fit perfectly in the Lakers lineup.

If the rumors are to be followed, the Lakers would get Cousins, while the Kings will receive SF Brandon Ingram and versatile guard Jordan Clarkson. Both are playing well in last 10 games. Ingram contributes a steady 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2 assists, while Clarkson tallies 14.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

Having Cousins in LA Lakers will bring instant offense and a constant big-man presence in the paint. Pair him with rising star Julius Randle and the Lakers' frontcourt will be an intimidating force in the West. But if the management (and the rumors) really wants to pursue Cousins, they should first address Timofey Mozgov.

The Lakers spent $64million dollars on Timothy Mozgov, and if DeMarcus Cousins joins the team, the 7'1'', 275lbs. Center will be a very expensive backup. The Lakers should also put Mozgov on the trading block, or waive him according to HNGN. As for the Cousins-Clarkson/Ingram deal, it might happen sometime on December 15.
