Sam Oosterhoff: The Canadian Prodigy Of Homeschooling

Winning the Niagara election by surprise, this teen prodigy is $116,500 richer, bagging a funded pad housed in Toronto, as well. What's more impressive than all the wealth he is to amass is the position he now holds. Sam Oosterhoff, at the tender age of 19, is a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Canada. Someone so young can't possibly have such fervent passion and drive for politics but not Oosterhoff.

Sam Oosterhoff is described as "the home-schooled, anti-abortion, proudly churchgoing critic of Premier Kathleen Wynne's updated sex-education curriculum is an unexpected twist in the race to replace Tim Hudak, who left Queen's Park in September," as per The Hamilton Spectator. In addition, he has an intellectual maturity that has ripened at an age when some teenagers are still worrying about prom or what to wear.

According to Canadian sources, Oosterhoff's prowess can be attributed to his homeschooling, which he has particularly grown fond of before heading to Brock University. Although he respects and believe that the public school system needs more improvement, Oosterhoff admits that "being home-schooled was a wonderful experience," Intellectual Takeout cites.

Homeschooling, due to the lack of social interaction opportunities it provides youngsters, has been clouded by skepticism. However, it has major advantages to consider.

"One of the biggest advantages to home education in high school is the ability to cover the same amount of material in less than half the time it takes for a student in a traditional setting," according to The New York Times. As a result, children have more time for extracurricular activities such as music, literature and sports.

In addition, homeschooling allows the parents or tutors to attune the study material in preparation for the students' college preference and academic inclinations. Meanwhile. Sam Oosterhoff has certainly shone brighter with the aid of his educational background, accompanied by likes of Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell, who have excelled at a young age as a result of such.

Indeed, homeschooling deserves credit for shaping young minds into success. So, what are your thoughts oh homeschooling? Sound off below and follow Parent Herald for more news and updates.
