The Asus Transformer 3 Pro is a look-alike of Microsoft Surface Pro 4. But is it just a mere look-alike and lacks the power that the Surface Pro 4 has? A lot of cheaper alternatives are available for those who can not afford the devices from the bigger and known manufacturers such as Microsoft and Apple. The Asus Transformer 3 Pro is another entrant in the market which has promising features.
According to Straits Times, there were a lot of imitators that came in the picture since the Surface Pro was released back in 2013. However, in spite of the many who attempted, the Asus Transformer 3 Pro is the best there is.
Like the Surface Pro 4, the Asus Transformer 3 Pro comes with an integrated kickstand, a keyboard cover accessory and a stylus. Flipping out the kickstand on the 12-inch Transformer, connect the keyboard accessory and the tablet instantly becomes a laptop.
There are even areas that make the Asus Transformer 3 Pro better than the Surface Pro 4. However, these details may not be enough to make Asus stand out.
The Asus Transformer 3 Pro is slimmer and thinner than Surface Pro by 0.1mm. The Asus Transformer 3 Pro also has an HDMI port instead of mini-DisplayPort like that of the Surface's are considered useful and beneficial to users.
As added by Trusted Reviews, the Asus Transformer 3 Pro has 252.4 nits maximum brightness and 0.1150 black level gave the device a good 997:1 contrast ratio making the detailed images pop and standout. The 7,125 K color temperature is above the 6,500K ideal.
The Asus Transformer 3 Pro with the stylus in hand made the screen more than good enough for basic digital painting and sketching. The stylus tech being used is by Wacom which is most of the time the preferred choice.
The only setback for Asus Transformer 3 Pro is the screen being reflective. Using the device outdoors made the screen pick up stray light which made it difficult to read. This, however, is an issue for most tablets available in the market currently.
