Contrary to popular belief, the MacBook Air may not be phased out. The news that it may no longer be updated and will eventually be overtaken by updated MacBooks and MacBook Pros happened sometime Oct. before the Apple event. After the event on Oct. 27, there were not much news or updates provided for MacBook Air. The suspicion on it being phased out got even intensified.
However, this may be a ray of light to MacBook Air fans. According to BGR, there have been a lot of hype surrounding the newly released MacBook Air Pro with its Touch Bar and other great features. Unfortunately, nothing was mentioned about the MacBook Air.
However, analysts believe that MacBook Air fans may be lucky. From a teaser back in Oct., Apple will be releasing three new notebooks. On the culmination of the event, nothing was mentioned about the MacBook Air.
If and when MacBook Air gets revamped and a new version actually gets released, what are the features will it have? The new MacBook Air may retain its 13-inch variant. It may even have a Touch Bar which is patterned after the MacBook Pro.
MacBook Air updated version may also, unfortunately, be patterned after MacBook losing all of its ports. A good addition though is for MacBook Air having a Retina version giving users a better appreciation of visuals and graphics.
The MacBook Air having features as 13-inch screens sizes, 1.6 or 2.2GHz Broadwell processor and Intel HD Graphics. The MacBook Air also comes in either 128, 256 or 512GB of SSD and 8GB of RAM according to Mac Rumors.
There is no official word if there will be an update for MacBook Air. Users of such machine will have to be content with the one that's currently out in the market.
MacBook Air, without any update is good as it is. Sure, it is not as good as MacBook or MacBook Pro but it does work well especially with not too heavy browsing and typing. It can also last a decent six hours without charging. It can do better, but it is better compared to others.
Soon enough, hopefully by next year, Apple will finally have word on what its plan is for MacBook Air. Should the MacBook Air be phased out or be retained with advanced features?
