While the show will stay true to its original vision and story, the transition has also allowed much more flexibility. "There is a little more freedom," explained Ike when he spoke about making the move.

He added, "I think if we really changed the show and made it more risqué and put it more on a tilt towards stuff you might find on HBO or Showtime, we would maybe turn off some of our core viewers," quoted The Washington Times of Barinholtz who both acts and writes for the series.

Kaling, 36, was incredibly vocal about her excitement that the show she created, "The Mindy Project" will be able to continue with its work. Per the LA Times, Kaling was extremely grateful to Hulu.

"I feel, personally, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the show," Kaling said to reporters. "And I'm so grateful to Hulu for giving us this opportunity. I just want to make the show better than it's ever been.... It went from being, 'oh, we're never going to do the show again' to 'we're going to have more work than we've ever had.'"

Season 4 of "The Mindy Project" is being prepared to be more explosive with more cast members. One of which is include Garrett Dillahunt playing the role of Mindy's replacement as she takes her maternity leave, Fortune Feimster playing his sister on multiple episodes, notes The EW.
