There have been numerous speculation that upcoming First Lady Melania Trump will not immediately join President-Elect Donald Trump after he will be sworn into office in January 2017. The supposed reason? Barron Trump's studies.
In response, Donald Trump confirmed Sunday on a meeting in New Jersey that his wife and youngest son will take residence with him after he finishes his schooling term on his Upper West Side private school. According to Fox 29, Trump spokesperson Jason Miller responded, saying there is "obviously a sensitivity" about pulling Trump's son Barron out of school in the middle of the academic year.
Melania has repeatedly made it clear that her focus is her 10-year old child and since he has been in school. The 46-year old wife of Donald Trump has been spending lesser time in Palm Beach except for family holidays and fundraisers in which she and her husband are both chairpersons.
The question is: is her reason enough? BBC News states that there have been two sets of school age children living in the White House in the past three decades: Chelsea Clinton, who was 12 at the time, and Malia and Sasha Obama, who were 10 and seven respectively. They also had to move across the country when their fathers became president but all three lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue from the day of the inauguration.
With Melania Trump taking the backseat from her First Lady responsibilities early next year and concentrating on being a mother, 35-year-old Ivanka Trump could very much take on some of her duties. Dubbed as the "proxy wife" during her father's campaign, Ivanka Trump could be more than just the Executive Vice President of Development & Acquisitions, just like how Martha Jefferson Randolph took on the tasks of the First Lady when her mother perished.
Melania's priority: Barron and him finishing his schooling for the academic year seem to very logical for some but to others it is just an excuse for her to continue living independently on The Big Apple. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to share your comments below.
