The upcoming season of Netflix's hit series, "Daredevil," is getting more exciting as photos of Jon Bernthal, dubbed as "The Punisher," leaks over the weekend. Several photos of Bernthal in black attire while he shoots his scenes for the TV series in New York City were featured in Just Jared.
The fight scenes are not easy for the antihero because he has visible cuts and bruises in the photos. Moreover, the snapshots are suggesting that the next season of "Daredevil" will be packed with force and action.
According to Marvel, The Punisher was born in New York to parents of Italian ancestry. His real name is Francis Castiglione (Castle), who initially wanted to become a priest but later on changed his mind because he was struggling to forgive those who do wrong. He was a former U.S. Marine Captain. Castle was living an ordinary life, but a fateful incident changed his entire life.
To get a better understanding of what seems to be a dark character, Marvel provided a sneak peak of how Castle turns to be The Punisher. Castle was from a tour in Vietnam when he decided to have a picnic with his family in New York's Central Park. On the same day, they witnessed a Mafia gangland execution, where an informant was hanged from a tree. To cover the crime, all witnesses were killed on the spot, but Castle survived.
He identified all the shooters, but the police were not cooperative in his quest for justice because they were tied to the powerful Costa family, who was behind the crime. The incident triggered Castle to put justice in his hands and he got the name The Punisher.
According to Breaking News, The Punisher will be Daredevil's adversary due to his "violent take on street justice." Marvel also announced that the villain has come across several crime-fighters like Spider-Man and Daredevil.
The leaked photos show Bernthal head locking his opponent in a fist-to-fist fight. While it appeared that he was in control, Marvel stressed that he was "significantly inferior to Daredevil in hand-to-hand combat skills." However, one should never take the character easy because he is also one of the most dangerous criminals alive.
When he was incarcerated at Riker's Island Prison, even if he was outnumbered in gang fights, he consistently eliminated armed and homicidal criminals without any difficulties and injuries. Despite leaving the military, he stuck to its philosophies. He conditioned himself regularly and ate a balanced diet.
The match between The Punisher and Daredevil is something to look forward to. "Daredevil" season 2 will premiere in 2016.
