Although both players left on their own accord, neither returned to finish the match, with only a little over 3 minutes left. Also, both players missed out on the NBA game against the Minnesota Timberwolves last Saturday.
CSN Bay Arena reported that during the third quarter of Golden State Warriors vs LA Lakers NBA game last Friday, both Draymond Green and Ian Clark sustained injuries which required both players to be ushered out of the game. The detailed that The Lakers' Larry Nance Jr. pushed Clark from behind while fighting for a rebound. Green was contesting the floater and landed on his teammates' shoulder, twisting his ankle and going down himself. On his way to the floor, he fell on top of Clark's head.
ESPN detailed the unfortunate incident during the Golden State Warriors vs LA Lakers NBA game last Friday. Golden State Warriors Draymond Green went up to block a shot from LA Lakers' Louis Williams. Upon coming back down, he accidentally landed on his teammate Ian Clark, who happened to be under the basket.
It appeared that Draymond Green grazed or kicked Ian Clark's throat as he rolled his left ankle. As Green fell, he also struck Clark on the head with his right knee, according to reports. Although x-rays came out negative, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opted on having Draymond Green and Ian Clark sit out the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"It was pretty scary what happened to them, so we don't want to take any chances," Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said in an article by SFGate.
As some fans would have hoped that the players will be back on their A-game, the head coach is not taking chances. Instead, as both Golden State Warriors Draymond Green and Ian Clark are out of commission, Kevon Looney is starting for the team.
