Mark Ballas has married his longtime girlfriend, singer BC Jean on Friday afternoon in Malibu, a day after Thanksgiving Day.
The bride wore an embroidered gown with a bejeweled headpiece, channeling what her dancer husband and his fellow "Dancing with the Star" professionals would wear on the dance floor. The groom, meanwhile, wore a dark-green blue suit for the special life-changing occasion.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Ballas admits that marrying Jean (née Brittney Jean Carlson) is a "wild" feeling. "Your wedding is something you subconsciously prepare for your entire life. You wonder who it's going to be with, where it is going to be and how the ceremony and reception are going to be," he said.
"Now it's finally here and happening. It's surreal. I just want to soak it all up because I just know I'm going to click my fingers and the whole evening will be over and I want to make sure I enjoy it."
Ballas, 30, proposed to Jean, 29, a day before Thanksgiving last year, and celebrated this year's festivities with family and close friends with a dinner and a beach party on Thursday. Around 160 guests were in attendance, including Ballas' DWTS family including Sharna Burgess, Val Chmerkovskiy, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater and Sasha Farber.
After the wedding, Ballas' best man Derek Hough shared a few words about the bride and the groom with a post to his followers on Instagram. "May you always go out on a limb for one another to stay grounded and dig your roots in deep so that you may weather any storm," Derek wrote, accompanied by a photo of the couple on their wedding day, according to E! Online.
Derek's sister, former pro and DWTS judge Julianne Hough, also took to Instagram to give her followers a glimpse of the couple's strong bond, and remarked that the wedding was the "best wedding ever" she's been too.
The couple has not disclosed any plans for a honeymoon, as Ballas is set to return to New York City to continue his run as Frankie Valli in the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys."
