It's time to forget "19 Kids and Counting" and reset the count as the Duggar family officially gets a new member. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were granted legitimate guarding rights to a relative's son, making the child 20th among the Duggar brood.
The Inquistr reports that the Duggar parents now have the full guardian status of 8-year-old Tyler. The 20th Duggar family member is the child of a relative--Michelle Duggar's niece, Rachel Hutchins.
According to a document reported by the publication, the "19 Kids And Counting" parents are the best persons to care for the child as Tyler's mom had financial and legal issues to battle. The court released the final order two weeks ago, Nov. 14.
News about the latest addition to the Duggar family erupted late in August. Per In Touch Weekly, Tyler's mom is incapacitated in taking care of her son because she is homeless and is facing felony charges. The 23-year-old Rachel Hutchins was said to have trespassed a business in Springdale, Arkansas, and stole a pocket knife and $2 change.
In August 2015, the 8-year-old was given off to her grandmother for adoption. However, Michelle Duggar's sister and Rachel Hutchins' mom, Carolyn, suffered a stroke in July. Information regarding Tyler's father, meanwhile, were not detailed in the court documents, giving the Duggars a closer shot to take care of the kid.
Unfortunately for the "19 Kids And Counting" fans, they might not be seeing the new Duggar family addition often. Despite the family's highly publicized life, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were reportedly planning to keep Tyler away from the limelight.
While Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have been granted full guardian rights for the 8-year-old boy, it does not necessarily mean that they have adopted Tyler. The "19 Kids And Counting" stars hope, though, that after they have attained permanent guardian status, they can legally adopt the boy soon.
