Toxic Shots: Anti-Vac Parents Gets Their Wake Up Call After 3 Of Her Children Contacted Preventable Disease

A self-proclaimed anti-vac mother who made through research in regards to vaccination changed her mind regarding vaccination after her children got ill. Kristen O'Meara regrets her decision after she,her children and her husband got stuck with a rotavirus.

Kristen O'Meara admittedly mentioned that she placed her family at risk after she decided not to vaccinate her five-year-old daughter and her three-year-old twins. NY Mag reports that the mother of three felt guilty after realizing that her children got ill because of her decision not to vaccinate her children.

"It was awful and it didn't have to happen because I could have had them vaccinated," O'Meara told the reporters. "I felt guilty, I felt really guilty. I wish that I had taken more time to research both sides. I wanted to share my personal story, and if it does help someone change their mind, then that's great."

After O'Meara's children recovered from the rotavirus that struck her family, it was mentioned that she had her children vaccinated. Her anti-vac views eventually changed as she lost some of her friends, and even gathered countless negative remarks.

Anti-Vac parents are common these days, wherein they strongly believe that vaccination does more harm that good when it comes to their children's health. It was mentioned that almost 87 percent of mothers refused to vaccinate their children as most of them doesn't think it necessary, or it does more harm than good.

Is The Rotavirus Vaccine Necessary?

Rotavirus vaccine is deemed as necessary as the virus can lead to serious complications and even death. WebMd mentioned that rotavirus is responsible for more than 50,000 hospitalizations and almost 65 deaths each year. It was then mentioned that rotavirus is more lethal for children after 5.
