The TLC series, "Sister Wives" is back for Season 8 and the reality show thus opened with loads of news about the polygamous Brown family. In the season premiere, Kody Brown appears busy trying to sort out issues with her wives and daughters as Meri was shown really upset with Kody and Mykelti seems intent to marry new boyfriend even without parent's approval. So here's a recap to feature some highlights from the Season 8 premiere.
As reported in Reality Tea, Mykelti takes her fairly new boyfriend, Tony Padron to meet her family over dinner. Right after the meal, Kody asked to have a talk with Tony, following Christine's news that the lad is serious about asking his daughter's hand in marriage. Both Christine and Kody are not so ecstatic about this news as they agree that the couple seems to rush into things. Besides, the whole family is still focused on the upcoming Madison and Caleb wedding.
During the one-on-one with Tony, the polygamous husband tried to discourage Tony from marrying too soon, saying he and Mykelti should wait for a year to jump into marriage. When Kody asked his wife and daughter to join in the discussion, Tony inquired if the reason for wanting for proposal delay is financial and even proposed a second mortgage for Christine just for the wedding to push through. That statement doesn't seem to put Tony in a good light to the viewers.
Meanwhile, Kody also had a talk with first wife, Meri about her concerns that her daughter Mariah is still mad at her for the catfishing scandal. While Meri worries about Mariah, she also wants to deal with issues involving her relationship with Kody.
Kody though doesn't seem to see any problem and just suggested a therapy for both of them. Though Meri agrees, she also lashed out at Kody and so he had to leave the house. For the first time since "Sister Wives" started, seems like Kody Brown is having a difficult keeping his big family together. Can this be the start of the rumors that Brown will end up alone as all his wives will decide to leave him?
