Video Game Discount News Update: Retailers Rely On Discounts To Boost Sales

Great discounts were seen in high-end video game titles during the start of the holiday shopping season as reported in the video game discount news update. Retailers are now depending on game discounts to increase consumer traffic and sales.

Michael Pachter, a Wedbush Securities analyst mentioned that he saw a higher rate of discounting from retailers this Black Friday when compared to 2015. Top games that maintained their original pricing before are now being discounted at around 40 percent according to Investors Business Daily.

Retailers like Wal-Mart are selling "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Legacy Edition" for $57 which has a $23 discount price, "Gears of War 4" and "Mafia 3" for $35 each. Another great discount purchase for consumers are the games "Titanfall 2" and "Battlefield 1" which is available for $27 each as stated in the video game discount news update.

Pachter also said that the combination of newly released software and hardware within one month have also caused some hesitation with buyers. At the same time, the release of interesting Black Friday ads at the start of the shopping season helped retailers to draw in new consumers.

Right now the trend of consumers is to focus on Cyber Monday which has become a better option since last year as included in the video game discount news update. Black Friday is generally viewed as a great American shopping tradition but more tech-savvy consumers are now going online and retailers have noticed it as stated by Business Insider.

Those looking for consoles will also get sweet discount deals with PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One bundles. As reported by Games Radar, retailers across the country also added games like "Dishonored 2" and "Forza Horizon 3" along with a controller add-on. The next generation of shoppers is now having a blast with options ranging from brick stores and retailers selling on online shopping sites.
