Will the next NVIDIA graphics card, "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" offer the same power as "Titan X"? This question surfaced following recent reports suggesting that this supposedly last Pascal-based GPU has specifications comparable to that of NVIDIA's 'ultimate graphics card.'
Why was this revelation such a big deal for tech analysts? The fact that the price of "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" is significantly lower that "Titan X" is a proof that indeed, NVIDIA is trying to lure gamers, enthusiasts and tech hobbyists alike to turn their backs on the upcoming AMD graphics card based on its newest GPU architecture, Vega.
"GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" Price
As reported by WCCFTech.com, "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" will deliver the same power as "GTX Titan X" at a significantly lower price. PCGamesN.com revealed that the price of "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" will sit somewhere between the price of "Titan X" and "GeForce GTX 1080."
However, if there really is a significant price reduction, then it could sway nearer to its origin. Second, "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" is NVIDIA's one last chance before AMD revealed its reportedly low-cost yet high performing video cards created using Vega architecture backed by HBM2. Surely, there will be discussions not only about its performance but also the pricing.
Will NVIDIA "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" have 10GB VRAM?
NVIDIA's "GeForce GTX 1080" carries 8GB VRAM; "Titan X" is powered by 12GB VRAM. Recently, VideoCardz.com suggests that "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" will have 10GB VRAM.
Any proof? Here shows a specification of a still unidentified graphics card from a shipping manifest recently sent by NVIDIA: FOC / PG611 SKU0010 GPU / 384-BIT 10240MB GDDR COMPUTER GRAPHICS CARDS, 699-1G611-0010-000
While it was never directly mentioned to be "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti," there were indications pointing to the said graphics card. First, PG611 board is equipped with GP102 GPU, the same built for "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti."
Second, this latest shipment has the same product number as "Titan X." Unless NVIDIA plans to release a lower version of "Titan X" then it's definitely "GeForce GTX 1080 Ti."
