The Police then announced in a Facebook post the devastating moment for the family of Marcus McGhee. The post is stated as follow, "Pearland Police Department regrets to inform the community that Marcus McGhee has been found. Today's search will be called off. We thank all of you for your efforts," the post said and added "The family is now in need of our prayers. Additional details will be released later."

After the loss, Marcus Camby asked for privacy for the family to grieve on the devastating event, but he offered kind words to anyone who had helped. He stated that the outcome maybe tragic, the outpouring support truly touched their hearts. Then added, If God forbid and something like this will happen to another family in the community, they will be front and center for the assistance needed.
