‘Insecure’ Season 1 Finale: Issa Faces Harsh Realities About Lawrence & Molly, All About Heartbreak!

The HBO comedy series, "Insecure" wrapped up its first season with an excellent finale that leaves the viewers wanting for more. Although Season 1 merely features eight half-hour episodes, the series exploring the lives of two black women received positive critical acclaim and high viewership, prompting the season to be renewed for another season. Check out this brief recap about the Season 1 final episode of the show that in a light but impactful way features the different issues that the black community experience in society.

According to New York Times, the finale is the best episode of the season. It opens with Issa (Issa Rae) desolately looking at the mirror and sulking over her broken relationships. She tried to call Molly (Yvonne Orji) and then visited Lawrence (Jay Ellis), but then her attempts to win them back only intensified her sadness.

A birthday cruise trip is the only thing that saves Issa's day. However, even if it was a happy occasion, Molly and Issa found it hard to be comfortable with each other. Lawrence, on the other hand, went out with friends and ended up in a strip club. With the urging of his friends that he should enjoy his new single status, he tried to flirt with a stripper only to end up frustrated because the girl asked for cash right away.

Feeling desperate, Lawrence found himself calling Issa and when the latter starts asking questions, he offered to go home so they can talk. Issa asked Molly's help as she prepares to meet Lawrence and the two even crafted an apology speech together.

When Issa arrives at the apartment, she discovers that Lawrence does not have any stuff left in the house. The lady will soon find out that Lawrence is only back to get his belongings. Molly tried to console Issa but then to build up the heartbreaking scene is a shot of Lawrence and Tasha making out.

With so many unresolved issues and such as sad finale, viewers can just console themselves with the thought that more insightful comedy awaits on "Insecure Season 2."
