Parents are always in a fix as to what rules they should lay down for their children to follow. They are always pondering about how to be the best parents ever and how they can solve all the problems that come with the huge responsibility of becoming a parent.
As it turns out, there is no rule in parenting. It works best in thousand different ways and there's no such thing as "one-size-fits-all" in raising a child.
According to an article published in The Bristol Press, parents are always seeking help on parenting techniques, a guide, a rule book or a scientific manual to teach them how they can raise their children properly and effectively. Unfortunately, parenting is not a science and no evidence, research or analysis can help parents in a completely empirical and systematic way.
On the other hand, parenting is not an art either. One can not master parenting by practice, no focus could lead anyone to the exceptional mountain of parenthood. But whatever they do, they must know that it is an accomplishment. To achieve the impossible, it is better to let things unfold on their own.
PhdinParenting also debated on the same issue. It states that parenting lies between art and science. Parenting is science when it tells that breastfeeding a child is beneficial for him and could save him from a lot of problems. It is a science when it tells that crying is dangerous for infants and parents should attend to the crying child instantly.
Parenting, however, is also an art. It lies in trying new solutions against challenges, hiding nutritional value from the vegetables and fruits in children meals. It is also an art when it comes to teaching a child to stay disciplined. To achieve the best in parenting, scientific side of parenting must be a guide but the art of solving a problem in parenting is equally important.
