According to ITPRO, iPad Air 2 has been well received in the market and it will not be a surprise if Apple will soon develop and release an upgrade in their line of iPads, which will likely be called iPad Air 3. However, for users who are waiting for the said device, the wait might be long.
A report from SlashGear revealed that iPad 3 might not be released this year. Industry sources in China revealed that Apple is being conservative in its tablet products and will not be launching an upgrade in their iPad Air. However, they will be launching a new iPad mini, along with the largest iPad, the iPad Pro.
The report suggests that, since there is a less need to upgrade the iPad Air, it will be reasonable for Apple to delay the next generation of iPad Air and give way to a new device.
According to the report, the users are more enthusiastic about the iPad Mini 4. Last year, iPad mini 3 only added Touch ID to its predecessor, thus, expectation for the next generation of iPad Mini is high.
For those who love the wider screen of iPad Air, the wait will be longer but it will still arrive. According to ITPRO, a Chinese publication Economic Daily News disclosed that Apple halted the production of new iPad Air, since the company wanted to concentrate on the launching of its iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4.
So, what can users expect on the new iPad Air? The reports suggest that it will be thinner than its predecessor, at 9.7-inch and 6.1 mm thick.
As for its specs and features, according to Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics Co. will manufacture the main chip in Apple's next iPhone. Samsung will produce the Apple A9 processor chips, according to the source who wish not to be identified as the deal between the two tech giants remains unannounced to the public.
According to reports, iPad Air 3 will feature a 7-inch screen, 3GB RAM, 5 mm thickness, 4G connectivity and a 128 GB system memory. It will also include a waterproofing and dust-proofing features, CrossMap has learned.
International Business Time suggests that iPad Air 3 will be powered by A9X chip, which is more advanced than the A9 processor. Moreover, it might come with an IOS 9 operating system.
As for the price, it might be similar to its predecessor. According to PC Advisor, "It's likely that the iPad Air 3 will cost around the same as the iPad Air 2 does now."
