Identity theft is a crime happening rampantly in recent times. It is reported that for 2016 alone, there is a total of over $20 billion stolen by hackers worldwide. The movie "Anonymous" depicts how easy it is to commit online crimes and identity theft, let alone these crimes be done by teenagers who are knowledgeable with a computer programmer.
People resort to online crimes and identity theft for easy money. Online transactions are done millions of times by several people all over the world. Doing transactions online is convenient. This is supposed to be safe. Unfortunately, this may not be entirely the case now. This is where the entire movie "Anonymous" would revolve around.
According to Movie Insider, the movie "Anonymous" follows Alex Danyliuk who is a teenager learning the ins and outs of computer programming. He ventured into online crimes and identity theft is his way to support himself and his family as they encountered financial trouble.
Along the way, he meets Sye, who is a street-wise hustler who introduced him to the black market trading and Kira who is a young hacker secretly working as an FBI mole. They gain the attention of Z who is a mysterious, masked figure who happens to be the head of online crime group. Z is also considered as one of the top targets of FBI.
As added by Rotten Tomatoes, some of the reviews for the movie "Anonymous" says it is an uninspired thriller offering the minimally computer-literate viewer few insights into the world of hacking. Another review says it is a movie which is intended to be thought-provoking but only invited questions about illogical choices of characters.
The movie "Anonymous" is directed by Sanzhar Sultan and Akan Satayev. The movie cast would be Callan McAuliffe, Lorraine Nicholson, Daniel Eric Gold and Clifton Collins Jr.
