'Thor: Ragnarok' Cast & Spoilers: Who Will Be Thor's Opponent? Thor To Pass The Power To A Female Character? [Rumors]

"Thor" fans are very excited with its upcoming franchise, "Thor: Ragnarok," despite the fact that the superhero flick is still due for another two years. The hype is starting to build up while the public starts to speculate its plot relative to the upcoming movie, "Captain America: Civil War."

In a recent interview of Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) with Los Angeles Times, she revealed that the anticipated film, "Captain America: Civil War," will set up plot details for "Ragnarok." So, until then, there will be no concrete information as to how the next movie of the God of Thunder will be.

According to MoviePilot, there are two notable instances of Ragnarok in the Marvel Comics universe. First, there is a supervillain called Ragnarok, who first appears in "Civil War," and second, it could mean an apocalyptical death or rebirth inspired by Norse mythology.

Ragnarok is a significant figure in the "Civil War" comics because he was the first one to kill one anti-registration superhero, Goliath, in the midst of the conflict between the two groups, which leave both parties desolate and set the tone of war.

According to the report, Hercules defeated Ragnarok. However, it was later learned that Hank Pym planted a reset code within Ragnarok, which activates it in the event of Skrull's death. Ragnarok was reactivated and become a problem for Thor. Thus, the villain could be among Thor's opponents.

Moreover, after the "Civil War," Thor rebuilds Asgard following the apocalyptical Ragnarok brought by Loki. The conflict between the two brothers remains unsettled as Loki possess the mold used to create Mjolnir and used it to create new weapons to destroy Thor. So, probably, Loki will be up against the titular superhero.

The report also suggests that Thanos, the character who wears the Infinity Gauntlet, will show up during the Asgardian battle to claim the Space Stone, and there are chances that he will have a face-off with Thor.

On the other hand, according to CrossMap, there are rumors that Thor will die, and Dr. Jane Foster or Lady Sif will inherit his powerful hammer, Mjolnir.

Other version states that Thor will willingly pass over his power to Jane while some people believe that Lady Sif will be the new Lady Thor. The said speculations came from Alexander herself as she revealed that Marvel did not tell her the details about the movie on purpose because she might spill it. However, she is certain that she will be part of "Thor 3" and stressed that "Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie."

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
