Ronda Rousey Bethe Correia 2016 Rematch: Brazilian Slams UFC Champ Over 'Meeting With Jesus' Comment, 'I'll Have My Revenge'

The match between the UFC Bantamweight Women's Division Champ Ronda Rousey and Brazilian MMA fighter Bethe Correia has generated incredible excitement from fans and followers of the sport. With the continuous trash talking the warring fighters engaged months prior to the actual UFC match, spectators were more than eager to watch how Correia will manage to follow through with her threats. The outcome of the Rio de Janeiro battle between her and Rousey, however, simply proved her claims wrong - that is, she failed to finish off the undefeated streak of the UFC champion.

When the day of the match came, "Rowdy" expertly finished off Correia's dreams of taking home the UFC Bantamweight title within 34 seconds - with the referee restraining the undefeated champion from inflicting further damage to the then already unconscious Brazilian fighter. Mere weeks following her defeat, however, Correia is calling for a rematch against Rousey and another shot at the UFC title. The Brazilian warrior eyes another shot at the UFC champ by 2016, according to MMA Junkie, claiming that the following months will help her become a better and more equipped fighter to face Rousey.

Meanwhile, one of the most talked about portions of their back and forth was when Correia allegedly took a potshot at the family history of Rousey by teasing the UFC champ that her loss to the Brazilian fighter might result in her suicide. This comment received a searing response from Rousey who slammed Correia for making light out of such painful and serious situation. Rowdy further disclosed that her father took his own life when she was just a child and the fact that Correia opted to use this information to play her mind games truly earned her the UFC champ's wrath.

However, Correia claims innocence on the matter and quickly apologized for the mistake. Her apology did little though as Rousey continued to threaten her in the days leading to the match - a fact that Correia points out as something fans failed to take notice, according to ESPN.

"I was extremely criticized and judged by lack of respect due to a bad interpretation of the current champ," Correia wrote in her Instagram account. She went on to share, "All that time I saw the real face of the current champ trying to pose as a saint while she always said publicly that she wanted to make me "have a meeting with Jesus" which was her true intention."

Correie further wrote, "The media never gave that much coverage. I'd never would fight anyone with the intention to kill, break their neck which is something there's no return from. I wouldn't joke about it, because wanting to kill someone is not caring about the pain their family would feel!" The post was accompanied by a screen shot of the article by Combate which quoted Ronda Rousey's comments after the match.

At the moment, Rousey has yet to issue a response regarding the rematch with Correia and the Brazilian fighter's accusations regarding the UFC champ's character.
