A news came last Friday, December 2, 2016, about another incident of suicide because of cyber-bullying. Let's define it first.
Cyber- bullying is an activity the same with typical bullying but the only difference is that it takes place in social media.
Having said that, it still can bring a grievous damage to any person especially to kids because it is an endless pursuit resulting in lowering a person's self- esteem and affecting his/her mental health. When a child is being persecuted be it in school or park, he can identify who did it. Unfortunately, this is the opposite of cyber- bullying for in this crime, the culprit's identity is unknown making the sufferer feel that there's no more option when the culprit has already uploaded uncensored images or videos in social media as an embodiment of bullying.
These incidents take place in social medias like Facebook, Twitter, etc., where the 'anonymity' cyber-bullying happens. The victim, being unaware of the personal behind it, is now the talk of the forum topics. So in this matter, parents are not conscious enough to see the important indications of bullying.
Cyber- bullying has an extensive span adverse effects to victims. Nonattendance is fairly usual to when someone is frequently oppressed whether in tangible or virtual ways. Their school standings will also get affected, also their self- respect will hurt where self- rejection will take place.? From School Crime Supplement's report 2010- 2011, it says that 9% of cyber-bullied kids were in 6th-12th grade.
Others train children wishing to start mating with them. Training commonly occurs in children with lower self- worth and in kids dealing with rejection. In these occasions, a cyber- bullying attack can also be an instrument for an assailant.
Cyber- bullying is no less than constant bullying because it does cause harm to helpless children in the absence of their parents or guardians and the adverse effect, it brings, is way too much. This heinous act that kills not only one's self-respect but also one's soul needs to be eradicated, so lawmakers need to make massively penalized laws to stop this kind of activity before it gets worse.
