American Idol Judge Harry Connick Jr.'s Daughter Arrested Over Underage Drinking at House Party

The daughter of "American Idol" judge Harry Connick, Jr., Georgia Connick, is in hot water as she has been taken into police custody following reports of her serving alcohol and allowing underage drinking in their family home. The party, which occurred while both of her parents were away for work, attracted a number of teenagers and youngsters in the scene. The noise and the ruckus made by the celebration reportedly alarmed one of the neighbors who then decided to call in the cops and report the matter.

New Canaan police disclosed that the charges brought against Georgia included permitting minors to possess alcohol and procuring alcohol for minors. The party where the 19-year-old was arrest was held in the Connick's family home in New Canaan and occurred in the past weekend. At the moment, no comment has been provided by Georgia herself or the other people involved in the issue. In fact, all social media accounts of the "American Idol" judge's daughter had been deleted as of this writing. Only her YouTube channel, which is rarely used, remains intact.

"This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family," said Connick Jr. in an official statement regarding the matter sent to Us Weekly. He added, "We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding." The "American Idol" judge was travelling and holding auditions across the United States when the incident happened.

According to USA Today, the incident came to light when a neighbor of Connick called the police station at around 1 am on Saturday (August 15). The concerned citizen said that underage drinking had been ongoing in the "American Idol" judge's residence at West Road in New Canaan. The arrival of the authorities saw a number of young people running into the woods and exiting the house. The responding officers disclosed that the party guests had the verifiable intention to escape potential arrest and resorted to hiding in the woods near the Connick home to stay away from potential legal trouble.

In her statement to the New Canaan police officers, Georgia explained that the party was blown out of proportion. The daughter of the "American Idol" judge shared that the event was initially a small get together she planned in an effort to catch up and hang out with her closest friends. However, things got out of hand when a number of uninvited guests started showing up her doorstep and inviting themselves in. Hence, what was initially a small group gathering turned into a massive party.
