Kate Middleton Wishes for Baby Boy, Prince William a Baby Girl

Kate Middleton is ready to compromise anything - including her sleep - to get a baby boy.

The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, while attending the annual St. Patrick's Day ceremony in Aldershot, talked to members of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards about her impending motherhood.

During the chat, the mom-to-be revealed how she and her royal husband Prince William differ in opinion when the topic about the gender of the baby arises, People magazine reported.

"I asked her do you know if it's a girl or a boy and she said not yet," People magazine quoted guardsman Lee Wheeler telling reporters. "She said 'I'd like to have a boy and William would like a girl.' I asked her if she had any names and she said no."

However, the expecting royal couple is already fully prepared to face even the most difficult parts of parenthood.

"I congratulated her on the impending birth and said you've got sleepless nights to come," Sergeant Thomas Laven, who has an infant son, told People magazine. "She said she was prepared for it."

While talking to another soldier, Jason Perry, Middleton revealed her excitement to become a mother.

"I wished her congratulations and said I hope all is fine and well. She said yes it is," Perry told People. "I asked is she excited to have her first child and she said very."

Middleton met Prince William while studying Art History at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. The couple started dating in 2002, got engaged in 2010 and tied the knot the following year.

Rumors about the royal couple expecting their first child had been doing the rounds for more than a year. The royal couple confirmed expecting their first child in December 2012, when Middleton was admitted to hospital for experiencing a severe form of morning sickness known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum. In January 2013 an official statement released by St. James' Palace confirmed the baby's due date (July).
