This Doctor Just Referred Former First Lady Michelle Obama A Monkey Got Suspended From Her Job

A doctor from Denver Health was first suspended after calling America's Former First Lady Michelle Obama as monkey face on her Facebook account. She was then fired from her position after her controversial post started circulating the Internet since December 3.

In an article published by Motto, the doctor involved in this scandal is Dr. Michelle Herren who is practicing pediatric anesthesiology at the hospital as mentioned earlier. Herren is also an assistant professor who works at the University of Colorado's School of Medicine. Given her professional background, lots of people were disappointed with her post calling Michelle Obama a monkey face. She didn't exactly posted it as a status, but rather answered a comment using that remark, which is still very offensive and completely inappropriate.

Denver Post reported this controversy saying that it was Herren's racist reaction after someone stated that the First Lady has an image of being eloquent that got her in trouble. The Denver-based doctor didn't seem to be joking with her comment when she typed the words monkey face and poor Ebonic English referring to Michelle Obama. She said that she felt better saying it and is denying that she is a racist.

The institution where she works only suspended her but eventually decided to fire her because they received a lot of students complaining about her. After she had been suspended, the university was still considering that she keeps her job but not until a lot of students have voiced out their complaints regarding her attitude and professionalism. The school finally just let her go and made a remark saying that Herren has expressed values that are not jiving with the school and she has compromised to meet the standards of the school's teaching and handling of patient care.

What is your reaction to Herren's racist comment about First Lady Michelle Obama? Type it in the box below.
