Any father's dream is to wish for her daughter to have an ideal boyfriend. It is also a given that this ideal boyfriend eventually becomes her future husband. Fathers long for someone responsible and presentable, someone he can be proud of and be absolutely satisfied to be seen with his daughter. Unfortunately, things take a different turn for the movie "Why Him."
The boyfriend of a father's daughter is one who is socially awkward. Yes, he is a billionaire, a big-shot. Apparently, this is not the only consideration that a father is looking for in his future son-in-law.
According to IMDb, the movie "Why Him" is aptly to be shown this time of the year or at least this season. The movie revolves around how an overprotective father and the entire family visit his daughter at Stanford where she goes for the university.
Little did he know that this is where he will meet his ultimate nightmare. The socially awkward but well-meaning boyfriend of his daughter. He is the billionaire boyfriend named Laird. Even the nickname seems a little weird and inappropriate. This is going to be shown in the movie "Why Him" as it progresses.
The movie "Why Him's" twists and turns as the rivalry between the overprotective father and Laird takes place and develops. The father, Ned then finds himself in extreme panic a he is gets lost in the glamorous and hi-tech world and learns that Laird is about to pop the question.
Will Laird and Ned eventually learn to accept each other? Will Ned be able to accept Laid as his future son-in-law in spite of him being not the ideal one? These are just a few of the questions interesting to find out.
Many can relate to this plot. Sure, it is not every day that one's daughter finds a billionaire for a boyfriend, but it is common that the partner is not the one a father ever hopes for.
