Has "Justice League" picked Armie Hammer for the role of Green Lantern? His followers on social media seem to think so and they might have jumped the gun on the official announcement. The actor, however, might just be teasing DC fans.
The buzz started when Armie Hammer was followed by DC's Geoff Johns and exchanged Twitter messages with Joe Manganiello, who has been cast as Deathstroke in the DC movie "Batman." Their conversations suggest that Armie Hammer might have just earned a spot in the DC Universe franchise.
Fans immediately took this to mean that the actor has been cast as Green Lantern for "Justice League" and so they started sending Armie Hammer tweets, Inverse reports. Without confirming nor denying anything, the actor teased his fans by saying there's a major announcement coming soon. But he ended with a completely different "news."
If Armie Hammer is indeed joining the "Justice League" or some other movie in the DC franchise, he will be reunited with his "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." co-star Henry Cavill, who plays Superman. According to Cosmic Book, the actor might just be destined to be part of "Justice League" as he was supposed to actually play Batman in a George Miller film that never panned out.
Meanwhile, "Justice League," which is currently in the middle of filming with director Zack Snyder, is expected to arrive in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017. The movie will chart the formation of the superhero group headed by Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Also in the movie are Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg). Willem Dafoe has been cast as the villain Nuidis Vulko. The movie is part of a series of interconnected films in the DC Cinematic Universe.
