On Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson's Los Angeles tour was held at Staples Center. It was an emotional night for the "American Idol" winner when she surprised everyone with her pregnancy announcement.
According to Us Weekly, the 33-year-old singer kept on breaking down as she sang her beautiful ballad, "Piece By Piece." Clarkson was trying to hold back her tears when she introduced the song and was struggling to control her emotions that she decided to stop and share her thoughts with the crowd.
"I was not planning on announcing this, but ... I'm totally pregnant. I'm having a really hard time," the singer explained of her inability to get through the song, People has learned. The crowd was very happy with her announcement. "I'm gonna nail the s- out of this song. That was not how I wanted to announce that ... I hate this song right now," the expectant mom jokes while wiping her tears away.
She added that her makeup artist backstage is probably hating her at the moment, but stressed that she doesn't want the people to think that she was on pills or drunk.
When Kelly finally got the tune, she remembered her husband and say something for him, "I'd like to apologize to my husband. That was not planned. I just didn't want you to think I was crazy or something. Honestly, I'm just so hormonal today. ... I haven't vomited yet. That is a freakin' win, y'all."
The singer continued her sold-out gig, and after singing "Breakaway," she joked again, "This is going to be a fun show emotionally. You know what's not easy to do when you're crying and choking up? Singing."
Before giving her own rendition of Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer," the pregnant singer admitted that she is nervous to talk to her husband because they haven't told their extended family about her pregnancy yet.
According to Us Weekly, back in April, Clarkson revealed that her first pregnancy was not easy. However, she is determined to get through the difficult stages of pregnancy once again because she and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, want another baby.
"My body shut down when I [was] pregnant, it was the worst," revealed Clarkson in "Zach Sang and the Gang" radio show. "I just want one more so I just got to pain through it one more time. I'm purely hoping it is a boy so I can have the most magically wonderful pregnancy."
According to People, Clarkson and Blackstock are parents to 14-month-old River Rose. Blackstock has two children from his previous marriage, Seth and Savannah.
