‘The Good Fight:’ News & Update: ‘The Good Wife’ Spin-Off Premiere Date Announced; Cast Revealed [SPOILERS]

The buzz whether "The Good Wife" will have a spin-off show or not is finally over with an official announcement from CBS that a follow-up series will indeed happen. Fans who have been missing seeing the character of Diana Lockhart (Christine Baranski) in the small tube, will be delighted to know that the CBS series will be back starting Feb. 2017. While waiting for that date to arrive, check out the latest information about "The Good Wife" spin-off entitled, "The Good Fight."

According to a post from TV Guide, "The Good Fight" premiere date is scheduled on Feb. 19, 2017, which will be shown on CBS regular channel. The next nine episodes will then be available for streaming on CBS All Access.

The series which is set to debut a year after the final episode of "The Good Wife" will have a plot that will saw Diane Lockhart and Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) struggling to recover from a financial scam. To further save themselves from financial ruin, the broke lawyers will then join the law firm of Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo).


Meanwhile, E Online reveals that though a number of actors from "The Good Wife" will still be part of "The Good Fight", there will be new faces as well. Some of the new cast members include Justin Bartha to take on the role of Colin which will have a romantic relationship with Lucca and Rose Leslie to play as Diane's goddaughter, Maia. Delroy Lindo and Erica Tazel will also join the cast of "The Good Fight" series.

Of course, returning cast includes Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, and Sarah Steele. The latest spoiler also gives hope for the return of Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick to further explain the hallway scene between her and Diana in the finale. However, the return of Archie Panjabi as Kalinda Sharma seems impossible for now.
