‘Westworld’ Season 2 News & Spoilers: Series Predicted To Hit Like “Game Of Thrones;” Check Out Changes Jonathan Nolan Teased

This early, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes already predicted that "Westworld" season 2 featuring Anthony Hopkins (as Dr. Robert Ford) and Evan Rachel Wood (as Dolores Abernathy) could turn out to be as grand, if not bigger, than "Game of Thrones." Also, Jonathan Nolan teased one change that they will do in the new season. Fans can indeed expect madness in "Westworld" season 2.

Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes mentioned during the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York that season 1 of "Westworld" became such a huge success. Bewkes revealed that "Westworld" has become the "biggest first year of any series," surpassing the phenomenal "Game of Thrones."

"Westworld" season 1 finale concluded last Sunday, Dec. 4 with a 2.2 million viewers for the live telecast only. On the average, HBO reports that "Westworld" has 12 million viewers across all platforms. Although the figures look good already, "Westworld" still has to a long way to go prior to leveling up with "G.o.T." which has reached 23 million total viewers, the Wrap reported.

With regard to the plot, fans of "Westworld" can expect a significant change to transpire when the series returns for season 2. According to series creator Jonathan Nolan, fans have seen the series revolved around a theme park in season 1. In the upcoming season 2, fans can expect a "very, very dangerous environment." Fans can expect madness as guests coming in for season 2 might be killed off, harmed or locked in with the hosts.

Spoilers did not clarify if the setting for season 2 will no longer be in a theme park, it just gave a description of the gravity of the situation. Nolan's statement suggests amusement may no longer be present in the next season. Nevertheless, Nolan also mentioned that it would still be a lot of fun, as the stakes have greatly intensified, Cinema Blend noted.

The publication further mentioned that season 2 of "Westworld" will focus on something that is deemed to be one of the most mysterious rebellions in science fiction as the hosts in "Westworld" are no longer limited by the programmed morals that kept them from mutilating people in season 1. How different could it be? Fans will have to wait and see when season 2 of "Westworld" premieres either next year or in 2018.
