The new free update that was recently released for 'Doom' included an array of amazing changes to the multiplayer mode called Infernal Run and to SnapMap. Bethesda's update also includes bots and so much more.
For the Multiplayer mode, Bethesda has added a new game mode, Infernal Run which is pretty much like a football. According to its description, "Teams fight to obtain the ball and score in the opponent's ball."
According to GameSpot, bots are also available for both the Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch game modes. It has also increased the maximum level cap to Echelon 11. Once players reach that level, a DOOM Marine Armor will be unlocked as a reward for achieving the highest multiplayer level cap. It has also resolved an issue with rapid controller input that causes unusually high shotgun damage.
As for the SnapMap, the Free Update 5 now allows gamers to play as DOOM Marine in Praetor Suit Armor. Its other updates include the additional 30 Lazarus Lab-themed modules, Lazarus Lab-themed props, and new player modifiers such as ledge grab time, power-up time, barrel damage and equipment cooldown.
Some more updates to SnapMap include improved object limits, plasma weapon mastery, single player compass, single player interactable, camera rumble FX and sounds, new player camera entity, more POI options, and animated echo events. It has also added save and restore health, armor, ammo, weapons, equipment, max weapon slots and inventory.
However, there is one feature in the game that is now gone. Fans have noticed that Denuvo DRM has been removed in the recent update. Perhaps this may be due to the fact that it is unpopular to players who finds it too difficult to crack.
Bethesda has announced that it is hosting an event to celebrate multiplayer additions. The developer will be giving double XP in multiplayer until December 12.
