Taking the third spot is "The Secret Life of Pets" by Universal. The movie earned $368,055,620 with 43,660,215 tickets sold.
The runner-up, taking the second spot is yet another Walt Disney movie- "Captain America: Civil War." It may not be animated, but it still did well as children and adult alike have grown with so much love for the movie. It earned $408,084,349 with 48,408,582 tickets sold.
The Top Grossing movies of 2016 is reserved only for another Walt Disney movie- "Finding Dory." This "Finding Nemo" sequel has strong following considering that it was shown over a decade apart. "Finding Dory" earned $486,295,561 with 57,686,306 tickets sold.
It is also interesting to know that the Top Grossing movie of all time was actually shown in 1939! The movie "Gone with The Wind" have an adjusted gross of $1,685,052,200.
