Research Finds Out That As Americans Grow Old, They Become Much Happier

Aging used to frighten a lot of people but after this new study presented by Gallup-Healthways saying that aging Americans are happier as they reach their senior years. This is based on a survey that showed older adults tend to be happy and contended than young Americans.

In an article published by Live Science, Americans whose ages are from 55 and above made about 63.6 percent of the happiness score made by Gallup-Healthways while people who are below 55 only made around 60 percent. This simply shows that those who are about to enter their senior years are a lot happier.

The basis of the survey included questions about their well-being, health in general and how they view their purpose in life. Their relationships were also part of the questionnaire along with the way they interact with their community. Most young people are stressed about their financial life, but the older people seems to be doing well based on the survey.

ABC News also published this research making a lot of old people feel better for their age knowing they are happier than the younger generation. Everybody thought that when you're young, that is when you are the happiest. This study just proved that wrong because the golden years are apparently living up to its title.

University of Chicago sociologist, Yang Yang, also an author of this study, shared that there is nothing to fear about getting old. In fact, there is a lot now to look forward to knowing happiness awaits. Based on the study, a person's perspective changes as he ages and it happens to be for the better. It makes sense because this is the age when one has already completed their tasks in life and have already made a lot of accomplishments.

It is the time in life when one learns how to rest and be free from stress. Welcome aging with confetti because it is all going to be just fine.
