In KFC's email, they state that their monitoring system found a small number of accounts have been compromised by the hack, but asks even members who might not be attacked to change their password as a precautionary measure. In the report of the mirror, they mention that only around 30 accounts were breached in the hack.

KFC also assures members of Colonel's Club that they are adding more security measures to protect member information and to avoid any more security breaches in the future. Techcrunch reports that that the hacker may have had access to password data via scanning internal databases or through improperly secured login exchanges.

This was not the first information breach for the fast-food chain this year: earlier in the year, recipe for KFC's legendary 11 herbs and spices formula used in the fast-food chain world-famous original friend chicken was leaked online through the Chicago tribune. The formula, handwritten in a piece of paper, reportedly came from Joe Ledington -- Colonel Harland Sander's nephew.

According to the report by the Chicago tribune, Joe Ledington found the recipe in a scrapbook that belongs to his Aunt Claudia and that he himself used to blend the spices for KFC's Fried chicken. KFC has denied the authenticity of the revealed formula.
