According to the ITV News, nowadays using gadgets and electronics is a regular part of a child's life but excessive use of these electronics can be harmful especially using them at night may have a bad impact on the children's health.
An Institution in Wales found the immoderate use of electronics at night, this resulted at fatigues in school as the children were unable to pay attention to their studies in school and were rather tired, this is the reason why parents need to control the amount of technology their children use.
The commissioner of Wales Indepent children, whose task is to safeguard and look after the rights and welfare of children says that these technologies should not be a cause of parents not spending time with their children.
NPR states that further research has found that using technology before going to sleep can harm eyesight and may also mentally harm the child. So, it is important to limit the children's time of using the technologies as it is for their benefit. Here are some steps that can be followed to reduce screen time:
1. Take your children out for rides and have a meal with your child at least one hour before going to sleep.
2. Use the gadgets for numerous purposes like Skype your relatives or do something productive.
3. Discuss sensitive matters with your child such as cyberbullying and other
topics.
For proper growth of a child's mind, it is important to limit their access to technology and even if they use technology, make sure they use it for good purposes like learning, etc.
